Campanera XXXVII
We are sad to share that Campanera passed away in July of 2009. Her passing was peaceful, and she was contentedly enjoying retirement. For those that knew and loved this noble, kind, and historically important mare, she will be greatly missed.
Campanera was our first PRE mare, thanks to Ami MacHugh of Jackass Mountain Ranch. Campanera is the dam of 2002 IALHA Grand National Champion Senior Stallion, Santiago. Campanera was what every breeder yearns for. She was beautiful, correct in type, so very kind, and most importantly, stamped each of her foals with her own perfection. Each of Campanera's foals are distinctly "hers" in phenotype. Many breeders seek stallions who "stamp" their foals with quality, few are lucky enough to own a mare of this quality with such strong tendency to reproduce herself in her foals. We have been fortunate enough to produce two Campanera foals:
- Senna by Malibu K in 2006
- Cacique by Heroe MAC in 2008
