Huelva III

I discovered this jewel of a mare after purchasing her daughter, Historia, in 2006. Huelva was bred by Luis Arenas Garcia in Mexico. She was imported from Mexico to the US by Barb Clark after she had produced several foals in Mexico. Huelva's dam is Odalisca 1981. Odalisca's other notable offspring in the US are the stallion Genio III and the mare Jarana. Genio is the sire of Ami MacHugh's Kianto. Amazingly, it was not her exceptional bloodlines that I was after... it was the temperament of this mare line. In talking with multiple owners of Huelva offspring, I discovered that each of her offspring carried on her fantastic disposition. It turns out that what I was wanting to "bottle" from Historia, came from a larger well.
In looking at Huelva's offspring, the result of breeding to many different types of stallions (including Indiano XVIII, Dioso, Gavilan IV, and Urquijo JIM among others), she has consistently produced high quality offspring. Unlike our mare Campanera, who stamps each of her foals with her "look", Huelva's offspring tend to resemble a blend of their parentage. However, each seems to carry on Huelva's wonderful disposition and trainability.
Huelva is bred to Kamiakin for 2010. This foal is certain to be a big moving, kind hearted soul. This breeding represents a careful linebreeding to Odalisca.
